COMPETITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Academy for Spiritual and Consciousness Studies, Inc. (ASCSI) announces its 1st annual competition for the Franck C. Tribbe Memorial Award for the best paper on the subject:
"EXPLORING THE NONLOCALITY OF CONSCIOUSNESS"
Prizes: $500.00 for Best Paper; $100 for 2nd; $50 for 3rd
Deadline: March 1, 2013
Contestants are required to be an ASCSI member before or at the time they submit an original paper 3,000 to 4,000 words long, single spaced, preferably by e-mail [email protected] The paper must be of academic quality, originally written for this competition, and include full citation by end notes and referenced works. We will give maximum credit to papers that combine and systematically integrate aspects of spirituality, consciousness and science.
To ensure impartial judging, we ask that contestants not identify themselves, even indirectly, in the text of their paper and not list their own publications in the referenced works. Instead, include them in a separate list that will be withheld from the judges. The ASCSI Publications Committee will serve as judges. They will reserve the right to disqualify a paper for reasons of length or as being unresponsive to other terms of this announcement. Their decision shall be final. Publications Committee members may compete, but will not be among the judges.
Submission of an entry implies a grant of first publication rights for a period of two years in favor of The Journal for Spiritual and Consciousness Studies and/or the annual conference Proceedings. Regardless of the results of this competition, re-publication with credit after release from either/or of these publications. Publication without limitation after two years is reserved to the author.
This competition honors Frank C. Tribbe, JD, one of our founders, who had broad scholarly knowledge of research where spirituality, consciousness studies, postmortem survival and psychical research interface and wrote or edited 13 books on these subjects.
